One Night in Memphis

March 16, 2018

Doors open at 7:00pm

Show starts at 7:30 pm Get ready for a night of rockabilly, country, gospel and pure 1950s rock and roll at the Walker Center on Friday, March 16, 2018, with “One Night in Memphis.” This high-energy concert goes back to December 4, 1956, the night when four of the biggest names in early rock and roll, Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis and Johnny Cash, gathered together for an impromptu jam session at the legendary Sun Studios in Memphis.

The show gets off to a rocking start with Carl Perkins performing hits like “Honey Don’t,” “Brown-Eyed Handsome Man” and “Blue Suede Shoes,” while offering up anecdotes about life as a sharecropper’s son and his musical influences. Carl later invites Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash and Elvis Presley to join him on the stage to sing their own timeless hits.

This tribute to that memorable night in Memphis features nationally acclaimed cast members who have an uncanny sound and look like the original legends. Guests will feel as though they are witnessing a rock and roll royalty jam session with the legendary performers whose music has stood the test of time. There is going to be a whole lot of shakin’ going on!

A limited number of tickets are available for this performance. Advance purchase tickets for this performance are $39 and $37 for seniors; individual ticket prices increase by $5 on the day of show. These prices do not include tax and fees.
